About Amanda Gibson

Are you feeling the winds of change?

I have been too.

On a Personal and Global level, change is everywhere. When you aren’t sure what’s solid, it can be difficult to decide who can solidly lead you into the unknown.

We are facing unprecedented levels of flux and in these times, I often find myself looking at the world around me to find the tools to create productive change inward.

The Change Process

Chameleons can fade into the background or stand out. At their will, they make a decision to respond to the changing environment around them to stay true and safe in their most authentic selves.

Like the chameleon, we are designed to adapt to change.

And just like the chameleon, I want to help you ensure you feel empowered to stay true to the core of who you are as you navigate change.

Together, we can expand your internal toolbox to cope with a variety of experiences- good and bad- and support your ability to stay grounded in your truth as you do. Intuition and adaptability are powerful parts of healing and you are powerfully capable.

I have worked for over 15 years in clinical and leadership roles in non-profit organizations specializing in helping people survive traumatic life events. I currently teach at SAC State School of Social Work and UCDAVIS Continuing and Professional Education Human Services Northern Academy. Previously, I taught online classes for the USC School of Social Work Virtual Academic Campus from 2012-2018. I am currently consulting with CPS HR, Aging Up, Transform Health, California Partnership to End Domestic Violence, and RS-E.

Personally, I have survived my life being turned upside down from relationship and major health events. I can remember distinct moments after each event where I began to feel again.  After I spent many long days and nights in emotional and physical pain, literally "gushing in suffering"; I began to have moments where joy made its way back into my life. The other side of suffering is joy and I would not have know such "gushing joy" if I had not felt such pain.

I firmly believe we are amazing human beings who are adaptive. We have to love ourselves in the low moments, but not get stuck there. I want to walk alongside you as joy comes back into your life. You will still be you, but wiser, more in tune with the universe and those around you.
