I have worked for over 15 years in clinical and leadership roles in non-profit organizations specializing in helping people survive traumatic life events. I teach on-line classes for the USC School of Social Work Virtual Academic Campus.
Personally, I have survived my life being turned upside down from relationship and major health events. I can remember distinct moments after each event where I began to feel again. After I spent many long days and nights in emotional and physical pain, literally "gushing in suffering"; I began to have moments where joy made its way back into my life. The other side of suffering is joy and I would not have know such "gushing joy" if I had not felt such pain.
I firmly believe we are amazing human beings who are adaptive. We have to love ourselves in the low moments, but not get stuck there. I want to walk along side of you as joy comes back into your life. You will still be you, but wiser, more in tune with the universe and those around you.
